TCRC hold three kinds of group runs for members and prospective members, described below. We accommodate various paces and distances.
Join us for any or all of them!
Members only: see the calendar of upcoming group runs.
We have a group run every weekend, approximately alternating between Saturdays and Sundays, at a variety of locations across the Twin Cities area. Our start time is generally 8:00 am, with a 7:00 am start in summer.
We have an extensive set of routes within the Twin Cities and to the east and west, listed here.
At weekend group runs, we will provide water, sport drink, and gels approximately every 3 miles, depending on vehicle access. At water stops, Nancy Rush and her stalwart team of water stop helpers will provide drinks in disposable paper cups. You can also bring your own hydration. After the run, the group retires for a leisurely coffee and breakfast a nearby restaurant.
Members meet every Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. for a social run and gathering afterward.
Our gathering point is just off the East Mississippi River Blvd. on St. Clair Ave. Most of us generally park within a block of the river on St. Claire Ave. Look for a group of runners gathering on the sidewalk, a half block off the river between 6:20 & 6:30 p.m. The approximate address of the intersection for GPS is 234 Mississippi River Blvd, St. Paul, MN.
Members that choose to do so, gather for tasty food and beverages at a nearby establishment after the run (usually at Parkway Pizza on 44th and Minnehaha Avenue in Minneapolis). Join us for just the run, just for the pizza or for a whole evening of fun.
Our Tuesday evening routes:
Mississippi River Blvd: Ford-Franklin Loop
Mississippi River Blvd: Ford-Lake Loop
Mississippi River Blvd: South along the River
Speedwork sessions are held in the late spring and summer. They meet each Thursday at 6 PM at the Minnehaha Academy Lower School Track, We have permission to use the track as long as there is no event there.
Please bring your own water. There is no fountain near the track.
We tend to run through rain and snow and all that, but if it’s really bad out there, we’ll do our best (text, email, and/or Facebook) to let you know of if we’re canceling a run. If necessary, email the Group Run committee for the run status.
